Nutrition

Are you mindful of how the foods you eat make you feel? You should be.

Losing weight or gaining muscle is largely dependent on your nutritional habits and lifestyle. It is not just an equation of energy in vs. energy out. It is also about understanding what foods work for you, when to eat those foods, and awareness of the energy that fuels you. It is also a matter of getting enough sleep, controlling your stress, and working smart, not hard.

Think back to how we would have eaten 10,000 years ago. There were no processed foods, no pesticides, no chickens being pumped with hormones so they can go from egg to your plate in 2 months, and no stressed out cows crammed into lots. We have not evolved to eat chips and candy. Our bodies respond and know how to use real, whole foods. This is called functional nutrition. The food we eat triggers how effectively our hormones are balanced and functioning (metabolism) and truly how our cells and DNA work.

As a personal trainer, I am not a nutritionist, but I know enough to guide. I am also a Herbalife distributor, and believe in a well balanced diet of real, whole foods with additional supplementation around it. I find that once you know the truth and gain knowledge about food and your body, willpower won’t be an issue. Knowledge and awareness is your power.
